Dave began his career in financial services with MetLife in 1999. In May 2012, he joined Planto Roe Financial Services as Managing Director. In 2017, Dave became CEO and co-owner of Symmetry Financial Solutions (formerly Planto Roe). Dave earned a Bachelor's of Science from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

Dave is an avid dog trainer, archer and wing shooter. He is the Chairman of the San Antonio Chapter of Delta Waterfowl, a Texas Ambassador for Hunt of a Lifetime (an organization that grants hunts to children with life threatening diseases) and a life member of the NRA. He currently resides in Boerne, Texas with his wife and two daughters.

Dave holds the LUTCF designation from the American College. He is registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 6, 7, 63, 66, 9, 10 and 23. In addition, he is licensed in Life, Accident, Health and HMO by the Texas Department of Insurance. He is a Registered Representative and Investment Advisor Representative with Securites America.
